Each of the big-time network shows was seen by fewer people last week than the finale of Univision's telenovela "La Fea Mas Bella." The Spanish-language network proved its potency, with three shows among the 10 most-watched by viewers aged 18-to-49, while CBS and ABC had none, according to Nielsen Media Research.

With its 7.4 million viewers, "La Fea Mas Bella" ranked No. 15 last week among all viewers. Univision's other two big draws were an episode of "Cristina" last Monday, which featured the cast of "La Fea Mas Bella," and a soccer match between Brazil and Mexico.

A repeat of "Ugly Betty," ABC's English-language adaptation of "La Fea Mas Bella," was seen by 3.5 million people.

It was an otherwise slow week for network television; the weeks around July 4 are traditionally the least-watched of the year. CBS won the week with an average of 6.8 million viewers (4.6 rating, 9 share). Only twice before has a network won with fewer viewers, Nielsen said.

The overweight contestants on NBC's "Shaq's Big Challenge" had better work fast: with 4.5 million viewers watching the premiere, the summertime series may not last long.

NBC's "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," one of last fall's most anticipated new series with creator Aaron Sorkin and a star-studded cast, limped to a close with 4.2 million people checking out the series finale.

The strength of "America's Got Talent" enabled NBC to finish second for the week with an average of 5.7 million viewers (3.7 rating, 7 share). Fox had 5.6 million (3.5, 6), ABC had 4.5 million (3.0, 6), the CW had 1.8 million (1.1, 2), My Network TV had 770,000 (0.6, 1) and ION Television had 670,000 (0.5, 1).

    Univision's 3.7 million average dominated the Spanish-language networks (1.9 rating, 3 share). Telemundo had 1 million viewers, TeleFutura had 980,000 (0.5, 1) and Azteca had 100,000 (0.1, 0).

ABC's "World News" won the evening-news ratings race, averaging 7.8 million viewers (5.4, 12). NBC's "Nightly News" had 7.5 million viewers (5.2, 11) and the "CBS Evening News" had 6.2 million (4.3, 9). "World News" won for the second quarter, its first such three-month victory since 1996.

A ratings point represents 1,114,000 households, or 1 percent of the nation's estimated 111.4 million TV homes. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions tuned to a given show
