    By Liza Foreman
Donald De Line has begun negotiations with Warner Bros. Pictures to set up an overall production deal at the Burbank-based studio -- less than a month after learning that he is being replaced as president of Paramount Pictures.

Not all the deal points have been settled, so the pact is not yet final, but Warners would become the new home for De Line, who has worked as a producer and as an executive at both Paramount and Touchstone Pictures.

De Line most recently served as vice chairman of the Motion Picture Group and president of Paramount -- a post he'd held for just 14 months when he and the rest of the film industry were surprised to learn March 22 that new Paramount chairman Brad Grey was bringing in Fox Broadcasting entertainment president Gail Berman to take over the creative reins at the Melrose Avenue studio.

De Line has since been in negotiations with Paramount to settle his contract and to take on a producing role on several productions. At the same time, he has been talking with a number of studios. The early betting had him going to Sony Pictures, where he has a close relationship with Motion Picture Group chairman Amy Pascal. Instead, De Line appears to be casting his lot with Warners.

His move would be just one of several changing alliances that are redrawing the Hollywood film map. Scott Rudin, another Paramount mainstay, announced this week that he will move his production operation from Paramount to the Walt Disney Studios.

De Line's film credits include "The Stepford Wives," which he produced with Rudin, and the 2003 remake of "The Italian Job."

Neither De Line nor Warners was available for comment.
